Liz has 10+ years of teaching experience and has completed Suzuki Teacher Training from Pre-Twinkle through Book 10, as well as Suzuki Early Childhood Education. Her teaching philosophy prioritizes guiding students to feel a sense of self-confidence and efficacy. She balances high expectations for technical proficiency with an engaging, fun and creative lesson environment. Liz is a passionate and dedicated teacher, and welcomes students as young as three into her studio (no age limit for adults!). Liz serves on faculty of the Oregon Suzuki Institute each summer.
Liz enjoys performing for events such as weddings, private parties and religious services. She has extensive orchestral experience, has played for over 30 weddings, and has appeared on four albums.
Liz received a Masters in Music Performance from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor's in Music Performance from the University of South Carolina, graduating summa cum laude from the Honors College. She has completed Suzuki Teacher Training on cello for Pre-Twinkle through Book 10 with Dr. Tanya Carey in Illinois. She recently completed Stage One of Suzuki Early Childhood Teacher Training with Wan Tsai Chen in Colorado.
